Welcome to Comin' Home...

Welcome to everyone who is joining my blog for the first time! Thanks Trudy for telling them about me--you're a sweetie!   I am normally a pretty prolific blogger as I have so much to share and love to pass what I've learned on to others.

Sadly, it looks like my blogging may end up being a little sporadic for the next month or so.  Dad is now being cared for at his home by me, Nancy his fiance, and the hospice team. I'm afraid this won't be a long process--maybe a month. I am the main caregiver so my blogging may be sporadic at times.  By next month, I'm sure I will be blogging at my normal speed.

There is so much I want to share for the new year...organizing, cleaning, gift ideas, and sewing.  So don't give up on me if the posts are only once or twice a week.It will be more informative and more regular as I get more help in place here at his house.I really want to get my soap making tutorial up, weaving how-to's, glass painting and some awesome tote bag gift ideas for the spring. Also, I'm going to do a how to for fabric journal covers using scraps. They are great fun and leave lots of room for creativity!

I already have the pictures and have done the work.  I just need to do the uploading and writing.  T-shirt dresses will be posted soon too--we'll have lots of fun!  I'll be working on how to recover couch cushions too--my mom has hired me-Ha! And I'm a cleaning/organizing guru.  So stay tuned and read up on all my previous posts if you are new to this site.  I've got lots and lots of good info on here.  And if you run out of stuff here--check my fabric art blog--it's got tons of sewing ideas and neat projects.

Blessings to you all.  Keep dad in your prayers and me too as I try to take the best care of him for this short period of his life.  We are having some special times together, when he feels like talking and is lucid.  I played my dad's favorite song, " I come to the garden alone"...and it made him cry and remember his mother.  I will be playing lots of songs for him in the next few days on the guitar to him because they minister so much to him.

May the Lord bless you and yours as he has mine,

Donna

I'm really looking forward to the fabric-covered journals, t-shirt dresses, and the soap making.

I am so sorry about your dad. I went that with my dad not that long ago, and a grandmother; so I know what you are going through. I'm still praying for you.

Take care of yourself. I know how difficult these days are, but you will be so blessed with the precious memories that are made. I will be keeping you in my prayers

I'm so glad to meet you all and look forward to visiting your blogs before my February drawing!

I'm sure I will be home again, by then. I hope you enjoy what I've posted.

Thanks so much for praying. I don't feel quite so alone..though I am so far from home.

Love, Donna
