To celebrate Easter...Wildflowers and Poetry

a good day to remember whose 'hands' we are in...

Today is Easter and I wanted to share the rest of the photos I took while on our walk yesterday...and a poem I wrote a very long time ago.

I love it when my heart feels like spring-time..
and I sense the Lord's presence is near..
I sing as I work, and the blessings of God
seem ever so precious and dear.

But sometimes.. I find myself struggling...
and burdened with trouble and care...
and though I know that God loves me..
my heart and my mind despair..

Yet the Lord, in His infinite foresight..
who loves me and wants me to grow...
allows the testing and trials..
that I, his wisdom, would know.

So I pray for a heart that's submissive..
and for patience and strength to endure..
but most of all for FAITH in my Lord..
and joy for the lessons I'll learn..

Just remember...when the darkness surrounds you...
when you're troubled with sorrow or fear..
It's the Lord, whose hands hold you firmly..
and he treasures in a bottle your tears.

In His Hands.. by Donna Rodgers1991

This poem was written during a difficult situation that I struggled with as a young wife and mother. It was only the first of many trials I would face over the years. Don't we all? Today, I had to face, yet again, the fact that life will not always be easy.

Again I have to remember that I'm frail and flawed. And again I'm reminded by the Lord, that I cannot walk one single step alone without tripping and falling.
I'd just as soon skip this trial..one that promises to last for a lifetime...but I thank you anyway, Lord, that you are holding my hand. Thanks for reminding me of that today...again...

See how the lilies of the field grow? They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Matthew 6:28-33

A wonderful reminder of whose hands we are in and that we can trust Him and relax.

Donna, How beautiful. I love the bluebonnets. (I don't think we have them here) Thanks for taking the time to post all those so we could enjoy!
