Morning Chat...on a Lovely Day

Hey friends, How are you?  I'm sure you are wondering if I fell off the edge of the planet.  What a busy couple of weeks we've had! I know..your week has been too. I'm beginning to think we'll all be 'busy' till we die..but I hope it's the 'right' kind of busy.

Our family has been 'busy' with birthdays--since four of my kids are born in October. We've also been walking, playing frisbee, counting calories on Lose It--my favorite weightloss tracking program and sigh..most of all doing taxes. But this morning..I'm just enjoying the great outdoors....

I really needed a break! For two solid days, I've been preparing the receipts and stuff to send off to the accountant.  Last night, I did a little 'victory' jig in the livingroom, which caused the kids to all back off with worried looks on their faces.

You would dance too though, if you had just finished accounting for an entire year's worth of expenses from 12 months of bank statements and categorized every single penny..well almost every one... for the accountant. And I have 24 hours to spare!

Talk about procrastination. How embarrassing!

I have such a great post to share..and it's just sitting there...patiently waiting.... for Monday. I hope.

This estate work has been my 'bane' for almost two years now.  So many things have been put on hold while I faithfully slog away at the details.

Today, though,... the sun is shining brighter than I can ever remember. The leaves are turning colors. The temperature only gets to the low 90's. (Gotta love this weird Houston weather!)  It's even rained twice!

Just for this morning, I'm sipping my coffee and enjoying a well deserved break on the patio just to soak up that luxurious feeling of being almost done!

Tomorrow, I'm going to talk another walk (I've managed about three miles a day this last week.), to check on the neighbor's goats and little kids. They are just the cutest things!

Christie and her hubby are the hobby-farmers  that Tim and I hoped to be when we moved out here but can never seem to find the time for.  We're getting some great ideas from them.

(Thank you Lord for giving me a friend within walking distance!) We go walking together and just can't stop talking!! Sooo much fun!  (I had just gotten back from a long walk in this photo.) :o) I'm checking on her 'pets' while she and her family are on vacation.

I'll pet the rabbit (the only one of six who survived the heat this summer) and make sure his feed bowl is full.  Then I'll make sure my friend's banty chicks are all accounted for and take home any eggs I can find. Mmmm!

This evening I'm making some homemade bread to take to church. Rebekah and I made a bunch last week and it turned out great didn't it?

By Monday, I should be able to share all the great ideas I've picked up in the last couple of weeks for decorating for the fall and the holidays. Our women's bible study group had a super fun competition to make the prettiest table settings...mostly to give us some new ideas for the holidays.

I'll be sharing some fun project ideas like:

  • Napkin folding ideas
  • Centerpieces
  • Pumpkin Candle holders
  • Carmelized Ginger-Pear Cake (using a boxed mix)
Until then, I just wanted to say 'Howdy', before you think I've forgotten you.

But Uncle Sam comes first.  I'll be glad to say good-bye to him..until next April.

Have a lovely week everyone! I've missed you!

Thanks Mary! He's darling isn't he? His momma abandoned him..so he's going 'on vacation' too, with my neighbor. But there are two more kids and four older goats out in the pasture to watch over.

He's so affectionate!

You have been busy haven't you. Glad your tax work is almost complete. I'm sure your bread will be divine. Okay Donna nice to see you and glad you are walking 3 miles, wish I could. I've gotten lazy and haven't been exercising. I've got to get back into it. Take care.

Good morning dear Donna! Just had to stop in and read what's going on in your world. I have to admit I'm in love with the goats! Even my hubby couldn't help but go "awww" when I showed him. I know you're crazy busy but it's great to still hear from you and thank you so much for the emails. Try to remember to take time out for the little things, those are the most important moments in life and the ones we'll miss the most later.

What a great idea to do a competition for the best table scape. We did something like this at our women's christmas party last year - we were given a bag of oddments and had to make a table decoration. It was loads of fun.

Your bread looks yummmm....

And what cute kid goats! and a friend to walk with.

And tomorrow the high is 72!!!

Trudy..I sent a reply to you last night. I hope you didn't delete a Picasa album. That's what happened to my blog and I still haven't got all of the photos replaced.

Jaime--I haven't forgotten you. I'll get that link to you soon. You are such a sweet friend. :o)
